Business Owners are struggling because they are failing to use the available resources!

by Adam Bean on March 22, 2012

Lately I have been getting out and about and making it along to as many Chamber of Commerce meetings as I can. At all of these meetings there has been one consistent topic that keeps rearing it’s head. And that topic is… Many business owners are struggling to keep their doors open in the current economic climate.

One town in particular has 32 shops that are empty. Now for a small town that is a massive statistic. So what is the problem? I mean there are enormous opportunities and ways of reaching overseas market that have never been as readily available at any other time in history as they currently are right now.

So why all the struggle?

Well this is the way I see it. Maybe it’s an over simplified way of looking at things, but then again far to many people try to make simple things complex all in the name of looking smart these days.

This is why they are struggling Plain & Simple…

The way we consume our media is changing, I mean think about it. When was the last time you watched the news on the television, or brought a news paper. If you are anything like me, you won’t even be able to remember the last time you did either of these things!

Like it or not the world is changing, and it’s happening quickly. The reason business owners are struggling so much is because they are not adapting to this change, and are failing to take advantage of the available marketing resources effectively. Platforms like Facebook, WordPress, You Tube, Twitter I could go on and on all day.

I emphasise the word effectively. Even the business owners I do see on these site have very little clue on how to actually use them to generate leads and sales. I have lost count of the amount of times I have told business owners to stop going around and randomly liking page just to build their numbers up. Yet they continue to do it! It is absolutely insane! Business owners do not have enough spare time to be wasting it on Facebook trying a so called Social Marketing Strategy that is never going to put one red cent in their pockets.

So what is the answer? Well there are a number of answers, but none of them are magical, or involve clicking a like button and every possible opportunity. Education is the key. And it is one of the main reasons I have decided to focus the bulk of my efforts on running workshops and speaking to groups at every possible opportunity.

So if you would like to learn how to start using these online mediums effectively, and you are on the Gold Coast on the third of April. I would love to have you come along to my Effective Facebook Marketing for Small Business Workshop.

You are not going to solve all of your marketing problems at this one workshop, but I will give you some Social Marketing Strategies that you can implement immediately, to start generating you some leads and sales.

You can purchase your ticket’s below, or on eventbrite. If you would like to find out a bit more about what you are going to learn at the workshop, there are some video’s that I have created on the eventbrite page as well
