Small Business Marketing Idea’s Episode 18

Internet Marketer’s, facebook is no place for you!!

Hey Guys today we are taking a look at why Internet Marketing for Small Business, has no place on facebook. The other day I listened in on a very important webinar that Ed Dale ran. Ed was talking about how many internet marketer’s (That complain Facebook doesn’t convert to sales) are failing because they are trying to use the same marketing strategies that they employ on Google on Facebook.

The problem you see is that facebook is a social platform which allows you to build relationships with your customer’s whilst they are on there socializing. If you interrupt their socializing time with your Google marketing, then it just isn’t going to work…

Let me explain it all further on the video below.

Cheers Beanie

Intriguing post, Beanie!

Loved what you mentioned about “creating an experience” on Facebook — something that gets people’s attention and starts the flow of word-of-mouth advertising. One way to create an experience for your fans and followers would be to create some “mystique” — a little teaser, a little cliff hanger, if you will.

With all the noise online (and it’s getting noisier!), especially in social media, you really have to dig deep and find ways to stand out and differentiate yourself from a gazillion other people in your niche or industry.

You also need to pay close attention to what your competition is doing and figure out what you could add to your biz that they’re not doing already – or how you can be doing something better than they’re doing it (better customer service, for example).

Wishing you the best of success in this crazy maze of online marketing!

Hey Melanie

Thanks for stopping by and adding such a thoughtful comment. Much wisdom is wrapped up in those words. You defiantly have to Stand Out from the crowd! For me that is by creating personal connections, and that is why I love Social sites like Facebook and Twitter. they allow me to be able to make those connections all over the world.

Being Small is Big again in business, if you personalize.

Yeah, I know they haven’t figured it out yet. Shhh.

Small businesses have a huge advantage over corporations at the moment because a lot of larger companies have not yet gleaned a clear understanding of how to use social media to the fullest. They’re still in a bit of a fog. It’s hard for corporations to break away from traditions and it’s really hard to teach an old dog new tricks! 🙂
